Well, I wanted to wait until I took the exam in order to put review on this book. I have to say that I had first bought another one, the "TExES Core Subjects EC-6 291 Book: TExES Study Guide & Practice Test Questions for the Texas Examinations of Educators Standards (291)". I had started studying with that one, but I kept finding questions that I didn't know in every single practice exams that I took. So I finally decided to also buy this book I am reviewing now, and my advise is: buy it. In one week I went through the whole book and it has so much more content than the other one I mentionned. Please bear in mind that you will ALWAYS find questions on material you have never heard of before, but I reckon that will keep happening no matter how many preparation material you invest in. So if I had to recommend one book it is this one. It has everything that the other book has, plus much more. Furthermore, it has 2 complete exams that I recommed to take just a few days before the exam in order to get in exam mode. You might also want to use the net to increase your knowledge. If so, I recommend you to check on the Khan Academy on Youtube. They explain PERFECTLY everything you need to know for the science part and some of the social studies one. Summary: buy this book, use youtube and wikipedia and I am sure you will, just like me, pass it all on the very first time... I bought this book after taking the test the first time and not passing. I totally regret not buying it before taking the exam. It is definitely worth it. I passed with a high score after studying this book. Of course, it only works if you productively use it. I've recommended this book to friends who were also taking the exam and hadn't been able to pass. After studying this book, they passed. I do think it contains a lot of useful information.
